Volley For The Cure For Breast Cancer

By: Andrea Poppel Sullivan

Today, there is more hope than ever for people facing breast cancer. However, there is much work to be done to find promising new treatments, increase awareness about the importance of mammograms, and help all women get access to screenings and care. In addition, we're working to connect those impacted by this disease to the information, day-to-day help, and emotional support they need to wage their battle against breast cancer. I believe that hope for a world without breast cancer starts with me. Not only is this my opportunity to join my community to fight back against breast cancer, it is a way to inspire hope by raising funds and awareness to help those facing the disease and save more lives.

And you can be a part of it, too.

As you may or may not be aware, Highlands High School and Scott High School will be playing in a Volley For A Cure game on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. The matches are at Highlands beginning at 5:00 p.m. We are trying to raise as much as we can to donate to Breast Cancer Research.

We will be having raffles, split the pot, silent auction and t-shirt sales to raise money for this excellent cause.

(We are taking donations for the raffles and silent auctions through Monday, September 15th. If you would like to donate, please email me) Andrea.Sullivan@kenton.kyschools.us

Thanks for helping out!
