Discussions have begun with several members of the Class of 99 to begin committee meetings to prepare for a reunion in 2009. There is now a reunion page on Facebook to help with that support. If you can help, or just want to know what's up, continue to check back here, or on Facebook. This story will be revised as more information becomes available.
The Scott High School Girls Basketball
Program is planning an alumni night for January 17th. Our alumni, especially the ones who played girls basketball, are invited to attend the home game that night versus Bracken Co. and then come down to Legends for some conversation afterward. It should be a fun time!!!
Some discussions have begun in terms of planning a 20th Year Reunion for the Class of 1989. The first reunion was so very successful but the last one wasn't particularly well attended.
One proposal is to have it more family oriented perhaps at a park so everyone and their families could come. Others might prefer a gathering at a park followed by an evening event. Some classes have even had a golf outing on Saturday, followed by an evening event, with a trip to the park the next afternoon. It all depends on what the class wants and who is willing to help do the work.
The Class of 98 celebrated their ten year reunion at The Sydicate in Newport on October 18th. How nostalgic to revisit the Prom site. With well over 100 people in attendance the event was a fun time.
Getting re-acquainted, figuring out who was who, talking themselves hoarse, and listening to stand up comedy by David Hyden, it was memorable. Having connected, the party people when off after the reunion to continue the evening that lasted well into dawn.
Andrea Poppel Sullivan, a Scott alumni and current teacher at Scott, delivered a son, Elijah, on Saturday. Both Andrea and her husband, Tim, are delighted. Add the birth of their son to a very successful volleyball season culminating in the team winning the district and Coach Sullivan being named Coach of The Year and its been a very exciting couple of weeks.
The wedding of Ashley Hill and Andy Anderson was at St. Pius on October 25th. The reception was at the Edgewood Senior Center. The wedding was beautiful and Ashley and Tooter could not have been more happy. It was wonderful to see some old faces from high school as well. Everyone enjoyed themselves and danced the night away.
This summer has seen several weddings with notable Scott graduates. The first of the group was the beautiful wedding of Tracy Thompson to Mike Rouse at the impressive Cathedral followed by a great time at the Briarwood. This clearly was an event that brought out Scott alumni and parents in support of the couple.
The Class of 1988 had it's Twenty Year Reunion and it went very well. The members of the class had a great time getting acquainted again, sharing all sorts of stories, and feeling like kids again. The party was good and was followed by after parties, of course. It was a night many didn't want to end.
